Friday, 21st June marks the first day of British summer and with this comes a wave of excitement to flaunt new-found confidence with freshly plumped lips, not only allowing you to save on the makeup but to embrace the beachy look that leaves you feeling your best.

With that, here are our top tips for maintaining your dermal fillers throughout the summer months.

Summer Swelling

Although dermal fillers usually result in immediate results, it is recommended to avoid heat exposure for a minimum of 24 hours after dermal filler injections. This not only gives the skin time to settle but also minimises further swelling and avoids a higher risk of bruising. We recommend staying away from direct sunlight, UV rays and freezing temperatures such as ice packs.

A Little Help…

If you’re wanting a little extra help to reduce swelling, arnica tablets, gels and Vitamin K cream may be a useful addition to your aftercare routine. Helping with pain relief and cooling the affected area, these helpers will have you back in the sun in no time. As always, make sure to talk to your medical professional to find which is the best for you.

Made Up

Embrace the natural face and let your treatment give the glow you need to take you through the warmer days. After your dermal filler treatment, we recommend keeping a fresh face for 12 hours afterwards, unless the products are mineral based, to ensure time for healing.

We’re lovers of the confidence that lip fillers give due to the natural look and high visco-elasticity that creates long-lasting volume. We’d love to see your natural summer looks for 2019. Share your pictures and tag us on Instagram with the hashtag #REVOLAXRevolution.
