In the latest aesthetics industry news, ads promoting aesthetic treatments to under 18s will be banned under new advertising regulations.

The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) have announced this new regulation will be introduced in May 2022. It is currently illegal to perform aesthetic procedures in the UK to under 18s and come May, it will also be illegal to advertise any form of invasive and non-invasive treatments to this demographic.

The new rules state that ads for cosmetic procedures must not appear in non-broadcast media targeted to under 18s. This includes online marketing on social media to print advertising such as billboards and magazines. Ads must also not appear in any form of non-broadcast media where under 18s make up over 25% of the audience.

At REVOLAX, we pride ourselves on leading the UK aesthetics industry and high professional standards. REVOLAX has always intended its marketing to reach qualified aesthetic professionals and an 18+ audience only.

All our digital prescriptions through Fox Pharma require a face-to-face date as a mandatory field, ensuring that both the end user and practitioner are protected. This ensures high standards and industry practices are met, encouraging our customers to follow industry rules and regulations, including not treating anyone underage.
